PFA
We are a friendly bunch who meet approximately once every half term on a week-day evening at 7.30pm (currently via Zoom).
As parents or carers of a child at The Holy Cross School we automatically become members of the PFA (Parents & Friends Association). When you move from primary to secondary school it’s quite a shock – no more seeing parents at the school gates! The PFA is a great way to get to know other parents and really feel involved in helping the school, getting to know it and what’s going on. We are a friendly bunch who meet approximately every half term at 7.30pm on a week-day evening (currently via Zoom).
Our main purpose is to raise much needed funds to benefit our students and school community.
Previous fundraising efforts have included hosting Year 7 and 8 discos, Christmas Fair, Carol Service refreshments and Rock & Pop evenings. We also hold second hand uniform sales where you can be sure to pick up a bargain (uniform donations always welcome).
In recent years, our donations have enabled the school to build the Rose Hub catering facility, refurbish the Sixth Form common room, provided art room tables and the refurbishment of the technology room.
Volunteers are always welcome and we would love you to get involved. There are numerous ways that you can help, whether that be giving some of your time or providing us with fundraising ideas, suggestions or skills. Simple things such as choosing to support Holy Cross Parents & Friends Association when making your online purchases through Amazon Smile and the Giving Machine provides the PFA with commission. Every penny counts, as pennies make pounds!
Very soon we will be introducing our exciting new Holy Cross Lotto which will be a great way to support our school with the chance of winning a pot of money for yourself!
We are also raising money so that we can introduce the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme in our school.
We know all of us as parents are very busy but if you can help in any way, please let us know – no offer of help is too small. It would be great if everybody got involved – we’re really keen to meet you. If you’ve never been involved in a PFA before that’s no barrier.
Please feel free to email us anytime: holycrosspfa@hotmail.co.uk
We need your support, no matter how little. So please get in touch!
